Happy Friday, folks! So today is a free episode for all of you, and it is the first audio episode of this new Substack! I’ll give you the details in the intro to the episode, but this is a cleaned up version of the 1966 Hit Parader magazine interview, one of the — if not THE — most important interviews that Frank ever did! In this essential 90 minute interview, Frank takes you through the early history of the Mothers, when the memories were still fresh (they would understandably get a little hazy later on). For those of us who are Zappa historians, it does not get any better than this! Enjoy this one, and for those of you who subscribe and contribute financially or otherwise, thank you so much! Much more to come!
A QUICK NOTE: THANK YOU ALL for subscribing to my Substack! I’m super excited about it. The possibilities are limitless. It’ll take a while to build a community, but that is the goal. For those of you who have paid for a subscription, an extra special THANK YOU!! If you haven’t done so yet, I’ve decided – after listening to a number of you requesting me to do so – to lower the price for a monthly subscription to $10 a month. This will include access to all articles and audio and/or visual content. Free subscribers will get an article once a month (such as the one I’m posting today). I appreciate and I am overwhelmed by the response to this, and I will be opening up subscriber chat today, so if you want me to cover any particular topic, I’m at your disposal!!
Thank you all!
Scott
